Description
Wonderfully solid and original 1969 Mercedes 280 SL California Coupe. This car was in one family for more than 30 years and had only been through two owners in the last 40 years. Runs and drives beautifully. It has had a fantastic upgrade in the form of a five-speed manual gearbox from www.TheDrivenMan.com. This transmission gives it an excellent highway gear as well as more usable gears 1 through 4. The original Mercedes four-speed gearing was ridiculously low on all of the 280 sl's.
The body is extremely nice and the paint is a good 35-year-old paint job. Interior is excellent. Features new carpet, seat upholstery and interior wood pieces. Removable hardtop included.
