Description
This is a fantastically original 1958 Volkswagen Beetle including original numbers matching engine and Volkswagen certificate of authenticity.
It runs and drives very well. Everything on the car is tight and solid like a good German car should be.
It has had one repaint in the original color. This paint is very good but presumably many years old.
The body is fantastic. All the panels are straight and solid. Floor pans are excellent and original.
The interior shows well for its age. The seats have been recovered with slip-on covers, but the original upholstery is still present underneath the slip-on covers. The door panels and headliner are original. The door panels are very good for their age but the headliner does have some discoloration and shows wear around the grab handle area.
It has a couple of neat period features such as tinted sun visors and a clip on tinted cover for the rear view mirror for night driving.
The original engine runs well and shows no bad traits. The transmission shifts smoothly in all gears. It received a new steering box under previous ownership. There are very few miles on the new steering box.
