Description

Very rare 1963 Studebaker Gran Turismo Hawk GT Supercharged with factory four-speed manual transmission. Built in December of 1962 and delivered to Memphis, Tennessee. It appears to have always been a Southern car.

One of the very few supercharged Gran Turismos from 1963 made even more rare by the four speed manual transmission. Overall the body is in very good condition. At some point the front floorboards were replaced, but the rest of the body is very good. This car was in dry storage for many years. Recent brake booster rebuild and tune up. It can be driven short distances but truly needs a new set of tires.

Unfortunately the original supercharger and bracketry is no longer with the car. The supercharger drive pulley is still on the engine and the Studebaker experts we consulted confirmed it is the correct engine for the car. Factory carburetor for supercharger is included, but the engine currently runs a standard four barrel. The engine runs well, stays cool and has good oil pressure, but it does smoke intermittently.

A copy of the factory build sheet is included showing the supercharger, 4 speed, heavy duty rear shocks, twin traction rear end and a few other desirable options.

The interior is complete and correct. The headliner is in good condition, but the driver's seat is worn out. The other seats look better but they are 60 years old.

This would be an excellent car to restore since it is rare, nicely optioned and has a good body. A set of tires could turn it into a driver in the meantime.
