Description
The vaunted Mercedes 6.9 !
In the late 1970s, there were very few sports cars that could outperform the mighty Mercedes 6.9 sedan. Powered by a dry sump, fuel injected, 417 cubic inch overhead cam V8. These cars were forced to be reckoned with and the fastest sedan available in America. If you don't know about these cars, go do a little research and you will find volumes.
This 6.9 is a project but definitely a worthwhile project. The engine has good oil pressure and does not smoke, rattle or exhibit other bad mechanical habits. It has a newly remanufactured fuel injection distributor, new fuel pump and fuel pressure accumulator. It starts quickly but does not run well when cold. Expect it needs a warm up regulator.
The famous hydro pneumatic suspension has new accumulators and the car sits strong and level and will remain that way for weeks at a time.
The silver blue exterior on blue inteior combo is one of the best of its era. The body is straight with only a little rust the worst of it being under the right rear corner of the driver's seat. There are a few other miscellaneous places around the car but all in all it is very straight and solid and does not appear to have ever been in an accident. The interior is complete and all in all not bad.
If you watch the classic and specialty car market, you have seen these cars going up in value lately. The only 6.9's cheaper than this are parts cars.
